I began working within the family department at BBE in July 2022 and commenced my Training Contract in July 2023 under the supervision of Nicola Dewhurst. I am completing the latter of my Training Contract under the supervision of Donna Amos, Head of Department.
I advise and assist clients in all family matters. However, I particularly specialise in children matters and cases that involve domestic abuse.
I graduated from Lancaster University with a First Class LLB Law degree and subsequently graduated from BPP University in Manchester after completing the Legal Practice Course together with Masters for which I received a Distinction. I completed my dissertation on the newly emerging area of Surrogacy Law.
I’m a member of Resolution, a national organisation of family lawyers and other professionals committed to adopting a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family law matters. I am also a member of YRes which is Resolution’s network of family law professionals who are at the start of their careers.
During my time at Barker Booth & Eastwood, I have built professional relationships with the local community including working alongside Fylde Coast Women’s Aid. I recently attended their End Abuse Conference.
Case Highlights
- Secured the urgent return of the children to the mother’s care in a case which involved allegations of serious domestic violence.
- Obtained protective Child Arrangements Orders to ensure safe care arrangements are in place for the children.
- Acquired Non-Molestation Orders for the protection of a client from ongoing harassment and domestic abuse.
- Secured a Prohibited Steps Order to prevent the father from removing the child from nursery or the mother’s care.
- Obtained an Order for Dispensed with Service so that the wife’s divorce application against her sexually abusive husband could proceed following his disappearance.
Outside of Work
Away from the office, I enjoy spending time with and walking my two beagles.
